Persian Lime (also called Tahiti Lime) is the variety used in most commercial lime products. It sets fruit reliably and produces heavily in summer. The challenge in Florida is Citrus Canker -- a bacterial disease that scars leaves and fruit and requires regular copper spraying to control. Experienced growers handle it; beginners may find citrus canker frustrating.
